Okay, let's get started. We were on the road for 36 hours from the front door at home to the hotel in Christchurch. It was noon here and in the middle of the night for us. What do you do? Endure, spend a lot of time outside, enjoy the sun - under no circumstances sit down somewhere, otherwise you won't get up again 😉. We then walked through Christchurch on foot, a city with over 300,000 inhabitants, and the destruction from the 2011 earthquake is still visible on every corner, but it is persistently being rebuilt. We visited the botanical garden, which has wonderful old trees and, among other things, a New Zealand area where we discovered the national symbol, the Silver Fern. The Kiwi is still missing. We had dinner at the Little High Eatery, a wonderful casual combination of different restaurants. However, by 8:30 it was time, we couldn't go any further and we could sleep.
