January 17-18, 2022: Altea
F. This morning, after a very long time, we woke up with ice on the window. Despite very pleasant daytime temperatures of up to 26 degrees in the sun, the nighttime temperature still drops to 0 to 5 degrees. Thanks to the sun, the ice on the window had disappeared again before breakfast was over, so we made our way to the supermarket for the first time in 9 days since the start of the quarantine. Next to the supermarket, there was also a cheap gas station and a Bauhaus, so we also filled up the tank and bought a few parts for our outdoor shower. After that, we drove to Calpe to the campsite. We thought that nothing had changed in the last 3 weeks (last campsite stay was Christmas) and we could just drive to the campsite and choose one of the many pitches. Boy, were we wrong - we got the last free spot. This one was in the shade of the toilet. The campsite was more like a battery cage for motorhomes. There were hardly any green plants, the pitches were gravelled and so narrow that barely two chairs fit between the individual motorhomes. We were shocked when we found out that our neighbor had been here on this campsite for 3 months already and had already reserved the next 3 months in October when leaving the campsite at the reception.
Well, to each their own. We used the stay to shower and do laundry, and the next day we drove to Altea. There we met Nadia, a known like-minded camper from Germany, and had a wonderful exchange of experiences over delicious tea. After that, we visited the beautiful little town of Altea. Unfortunately, the restaurant with the best Paella in all of Spain (source: Pablo) was closed, so here are a few pictures of the beautiful white town of Altea.
Day 95 - Total tour 5,703 km
