Day 2: Vadstena

Day 1 (5.6.16): In the express train through Germany

Starting with a half hour delay, practically alone on the Autobahn until Stuttgart, thanks to Sunday morning. From Stuttgart, the traffic slowly picks up and the difference between the right Defi lane and the left German lane increases with every kilometer. Around noon, the difference is easily 100 km/h, as the Germans and Swiss drivers overtake us. So shift down to 4th gear and step on the gas. It doesn't affect the speed, but at least the fast cars are now driving through a cloud of smoke :-)

After 1001 kilometers in 28 degrees Celsius outside and 38 degrees Celsius (measured!) inside temperature (thanks to the transmission), we reach Heiligenhafen without any traffic jam or other problems. Later we learn from another couple that there was a three-hour traffic jam behind us, but we had nothing to do with it :-). The Hotel Meereszeiten is excellent, clean, modern and in a great location, right by the marina. We set out to find a cozy restaurant and enjoy lentils and grilled vegetables with chicken (and the last cheap beer).

Soon we fall tired into bed and sleep until the alarm goes off.
