Day 1 VREDEN 06.08.2022

This year we want to go on a proper vacation again, because stupid Corona has robbed us of two years of adventure time. Not very well prepared and all put together quickly, we still set off on our journey and threw ourselves into an adventure.

The first stop was our family in Vreden! We were lucky and the first 530 kilometers went completely smoothly. No traffic jams, no construction sites, and a smooth-running car. That also made the increased temperatures (Berlin had over 30° in the last few days) bearable. In Vreden, we met the whole family and poor Luca met the excited great-grandma. Luca's initial shyness and Pia's tears (shocked mother) and Lea's tears (sympathetic shocked aunt) were soon forgotten. With coffee and cake in the sunny garden, with the three dogs at our feet, we could slowly relax and unwind. The beer had the perfect temperature in the late afternoon, and the plan for the next day took shape. A delicious stew made by Daniela, seasoned by Pia, rounded everything off and I retreated tired to the bedroom.
