The days between 9.2 and 12.2.18 we spent in Dalat in the central highlands of South Vietnam, 1500 meters above sea level. The city is located around a lake and is surrounded by mountains, pine forests, lakes, and waterfalls. Dalat immediately reminded me a little of our Arosa in Switzerland. Dalat is a booming city with wide avenues and many villas, some of which are decaying ruins, some of which have been renovated into luxury accommodations.
We stayed at the Redhouse Backpacker Hostel with Misses Moon and her assistant, Mister Ben. He is from New Zealand and currently working as a volunteer with Misses Moon. A somewhat quirky character. He's bald, wears a headband like Karate Kid, and thinks he knows everything better than Misses Moon. This led to many heated discussions between the two 😜
We met many travelers such as Damon from America, who lives in Cambodia and runs a bar, Iris from the Netherlands, who is passing through, and Vasilis from England, who has been traveling the world for five years. We visited the Elephant Falls, the Crazy House, and the Maze Bar, explored the surroundings of Dalat by motorcycle, and admired the huge coffee and flower plantations. After three days, we wanted to continue to Phan Thiet, where we planned to spend a few days at the beach. We booked another bus and left Dalat on Thursday at 1:00 p.m.
