Tag 137 - Too shy

Vera has been living with us for a few weeks now. She is also a volunteer and is also from Germany. Vera is six feet tall, 18 years old, and does not speak. Well, she can, but she hardly does. She doesn't even say "hello" when she comes out of her room for dinner. And when she does say something, it's in a very quiet whispering voice that doesn't match her large body at all, and it's so slow and drawn out that I have to hold myself back from finishing the sentence for her. After all, I'm not getting any younger and I don't have forever. No, kidding, I've just never met such a shy girl before. And she eats such small portions that I want to exclaim the words of my grandma: "Child, you have to eat something!"
