On 21.10. we had booked a day tour to Pétropolis. The first stop took us to the São Pedro de Alcântara Cathedral in Pétropolis.
The second stop was at the house of Santos Dumont, an aeronaut who took it upon himself to develop an ultralight aircraft. Unfortunately, the museum was closed to the public, but next door was Katz Chocolate Factory.
Then we continued to the Imperial Museum, located in the former summer residence of the former Brazilian Emperor Pedro II. It contains many treasures of the Brazilian imperial era, such as carriages and paintings of the imperial family, as well as the imperial crown.
The planned visit to the Bohemia Brewery was then replaced last minute with a short shopping spree.
We were back at the hotel around 19:00.
