Still, I struggled to find a good blog about studying in country which is typically associated with backpacking. In my case, this country is Thailand, more precisley Bangkok.
Bangkok is home to more than 8 Million people - and it has some of the biggest universities of South Asia. Nevertheless, almost no one I know has ever heard of a single Thai university so far.
But studying in Bangkok might become a secret tipp- more and more European students are interested in studying somewhere else than America or doing an Erasmus year.
Therefore, here are some cons why you should consider studying in Bangkok.
It's cheap - even with a small budget, you are able to rent a security protected, single apartment, pay your study fees, living costs and save some money to travel.
It's international - some of the capital biggest universities teach most classes in English. Also, each year more foreign exchange students, immigrants or firms settle down in Bangkok. You will likely find an Italian restaurant or Turkish barber shop at most bigger places.
It's a great way to combine studying and traveling. As a Thai semester is shorter than most European ones, you can quickly finish your courses and use the rest of the time to travel around.
+ Summer all year. Prepare yourself for tropical weather and a lot of sunshine.
It's Bangkok - one, if not the most intersting, exotic, wildest and unique city of the world.
