Nykshytta & Nyksvatnet

Buga: 08.06.2020

After a small lunch, I went on another tour, this time to a Dagsturhytta. These are cabins that always look the same and inside there are books so you can take a break and read. Every municipality in the area has such a cabin, this one is the neighboring municipality Askvoll.

The climb was difficult and I had to take a long break at the top. I took out my book from my backpack and read for a while. Then I became curious about a noise and found a beautiful lake, Nyksvatnet, just behind the cabin.

The path to the cabin was accompanied by a river and many waterfalls. Now I found out where the water came from: from the lake

I wanted to continue hiking and almost reached the over 800 m high mountain (the cabin was at an altitude of 455 m), called Moldura, but at about 600 meters of altitude my knee hurt so much that I decided to turn back.

It's not particularly warm today, only 17°C, but the sun is still very strong and despite sunscreen I got a little sunburn. But it was definitely worth it!
