Tag 218 - Elephants and Freedom Beach

Hello everyone

Today was the first real day for the three of us in Thailand and Mama's birthday :).

We had a comfortable breakfast, sat on the balcony, and then calmly went outside :).

First of all, we rented a scooter. Then we drove to the "Chalong Elephant Retirement" and had an hour of fun with an elephant. We were allowed to feed, cuddle, wash and take lots of photos with the animal. It was very beautiful, but it was clear that the animal was being sedated... We addressed this to the staff and they confirmed our suspicion. However, it was also logical, since elephants have such strength and we were allowed to be so close to it. But the employees always treated the sweet giant very lovingly and were patient when the animal didn't do exactly what was asked of it.

Afterwards, we continued on to "Freedom Beach". The path to the beach surprised us, as it was relatively long and steep. But it was worth it! The beach was really beautiful! However, it also had quite a few visitors. We stayed there for a while, laying in the sand and enjoying the warm weather.

Later, we went to Patong, had something to eat, and strolled through a few shops and a market.

We returned to our hotel room around 6:30 p.m. and sat back on the balcony. Later, we will get a couple of cocktails delivered to our room and quietly end the evening.
