In the morning, I go for a beautiful run along the Coast Path. Then we start our road trip. First stop is in Swellendal - allegedly the prettiest small town in South Africa. We also have a delicious lunch there. Then we continue to De Hoop Nature Reserve. The drive is about 45 km on gravel road. Then we reach the entrance of the reserve. We drive a few more kilometers until we reach the wooden boardwalk that leads us to beautiful coves and huge sandy beaches. We also see the first whales.
The reserve is truly worth a visit.
On our way back, we encounter a large troop of monkeys. We had initially planned to go to Cape Agulhas, but it's already late and we drive directly to Hermanus. We have booked a night at the Harbour Hotel there.
