On the second day in the Cameron Highlands, I had planned a slightly smaller hiking route and wanted to start in the late morning. The sky was already somewhat cloudy when I started, but I was still in good spirits. After walking about 1.5 km and not having properly left Brinchang, it suddenly started to pour rain. I initially took shelter at a small shop, but it wouldn't stop quickly. So, piece by piece, I strolled back to the hotel, intending to wait out the rain... Ultimately, that didn’t work out, as it didn't really clear up. I then decided to take a relaxation day and indulge in reading and chilling. After the long hike from the previous day with many impressions, my conscience was quite at peace. Later in the afternoon, I then just took a stroll around the town itself and checked out local shops and department stores, as well as the night market. However, there wasn't really much to see. I only noticed that there was quite a lot of fireworks available for purchase. I had already heard and seen it everywhere the night before... and it was supposed to continue...

The next day (March 31), I continued towards Penang. With two Grab taxis and the longer bus journey, it took almost six hours until I arrived at my destination in a hotel in Georgetown. The bus ride was quite pleasant, even so comfortable that my bus neighbor kept dozing off on my shoulder. Penang is an island in northern Malaysia, and Georgetown is its capital. The city center of Georgetown is a UNESCO World Heritage site and features a variety of diverse attractions from the city's rich history, where temples, churches, and mosques of different religions can be found peacefully situated next to each other in a small area. The city is also known for the various street art found at many corners and on building facades. It reminded me a lot of Banksy.

After checking into the hotel, I set off to explore the diversity of the city and its many small and large details. At some point, when the humidity became quite significant and I also felt hungry, I settled down in one of the many cozy bars for a meal and a cool drink... and shortly thereafter, it started pouring again, so I stayed there a little longer... After a stop at the hotel when the rain had eased a bit, I strolled out in the evening for a little round to enjoy live music from a local combo around the corners...

Today, after a late and leisurely breakfast in an extremely delicious and quirky café, I continued my sightseeing round through the city. Everywhere I specifically searched for the different street art images and passed by various other historical buildings and places of worship. I tried, like everyone around me, to constantly find shady paths, as the sun was shining down intensively, and it was also incredibly humid. This was not always successful. After a few hours of sightseeing, I then passed by the bar from the previous day again - not quite coincidentally during happy hour - and settled down there for a while... My evening round is currently being disrupted by longer thunderstorms, so I will likely end the evening comfortably in the pleasantly air-conditioned hotel... But that might not be the last word yet ;-) ..

Was meinst Du? Dass ich mich über die Happy Hour gefreut habe, war für Dich überraschend? 😎 Oder wie kommt was?
