Excursión a la Universidad de Iowa
En el cuarto día de nuestro emocionante viaje, visitamos la Universidad de Iowa. Visitamos los edificios y pasamos el día allí.
Mi día comenzó a las 7 de la mañana en casa de mi familia anfitriona. Antes de ir a la escuela, desayuné. Después de eso, me preparé para la escuela y su mamá me llevó allí. En nuestra escuela secundaria, todos nos reunimos en el aula de alemán. Cuando estábamos todos allí sentados, hablamos mucho y reímos juntos. También compartimos lo que hicimos ayer con nuestras familias anfitrionas. Con una “bolsa de chips saludables”, esperamos a que nos recogiera el autobús que nos llevó a la universidad a las 9:30 a.m.
A las 9:45 a.m., estamos sentados en el autobús – un típico autobús escolar amarillo.
45 minutos más tarde, ahora estamos frente a la Universidad de Iowa. Aquí nos recibieron con mucho cariño.
Hubo una visita interesante y miramos los edificios. Fue impresionante, hay tantas opciones. Lo que más me fascinó fue el edificio deportivo, era muy grande y variado. Después del recorrido, fuimos a cenar. Había un enorme buffet con pizza, pasta, hamburguesas, wraps, bar de yogur y bar de postres. Todos estábamos más que llenos.
Después del almuerzo, fuimos a un árbol en el campus que se asocia con Anne Frank. Allí nos contaron algo sobre ella.
Alrededor de la 1:30 p.m., comenzamos el viaje de regreso a Cedar Rapids. Después de que regresamos a la escuela, nos dividimos. Algunos de nuestros anfitriones aún estaban en clase, los demás habían terminado el día escolar.
En la tarde, cada uno hizo algo diferente con su anfitrión y concluyó el impresionante día.
La Universidad de Iowa era muy, muy grande y diversa. Fue interesante ver cuántas posibilidades hay allí.

Trip to the University of Iowa
On the fourth day of our eventful trip, we visited the University of Iowa. We viewed the buildings and spent the day there.
My day started at 7 o’clock at my host family home. Before going to school, I had breakfast. After that I got ready for school and her mom drove me there. In our high school we all found ourselves in the German room. When we were all sitting there, we talked a lot and laughed together. We also exchanged what we did yesterday with our host families. With a “healthy chip bag”, we waited to be picked up by the bus that took us to the university at 9:30 a.m.
9:45 a.m. we sit on the bus – a typical yellow school bus.
45 minutes later, we are now in front of the University of Iowa. Here we were received very warmly.
There was an interesting tour and we looked at the buildings. It was breathtaking, there are so many options. I was most fascinated by the sports building, it was very large and varied. After the tour we went to dinner. There was a huge buffet with pizza, pasta, burgers, wraps, yogurt bar and dessert bar. We were all so full.
After lunch we went to a tree on campus, which is connected to Anne Frank. There we were told something about their history.
Around 1:30 p.m. we started the return trip to Cedar Rapids. After we got back to school, we split up. Some of our hosts were still in school, the others had finished school.
In the afternoon everyone did something different with their host and ended the impressive day.
The University of Iowa was very large and diverse. It was interesting to see how many possibilities you have there.
