Saturday 28-02
Today we are going on a trip on the snowmobiles! Yes!!
Last week we coordinated with the owners to do this together with them today. Since there is going to be a scooter event today, where everyone can gather at a community center.
We will be ready on time, we will receive instructions on how to use the snowmobile and arrange helmets. We will both be driving ourselves, and the girls will ride along. The whole family of the owners is coming along too. (Rick, Annelotte, Sten, Jim, and Devin)
Along the way, we drive through beautiful forests and over lakes. From very narrow forest paths to racing hard over the lakes. We reach speeds of up to 70 km/h!
We take a coffee break at Rick's hunting lodge, it's nice to see how it looks. There is even a sauna! This is used to help hunters not come back sick after a period of hunting.
Wow!! We see fresh moose tracks, but unfortunately, we haven't seen the moose itself.
At the community center, there are many snowmobiles, and to sponsor the community center a bit, we have our lunch here. A Swedish pancake and sandwiches with sausage.
A quick restroom break in a wooden hut, which is very normal here. The girls are not happy about it and are afraid of falling in the hole!
We continue the trip, shortly after we stopped, across a large lake. Gerjenda goes off the path, over the loose snow, and hits a tree, well, completely toppled over. Fortunately, it wasn't too bad. Well, it had to happen sometime🫢
Annelotte, Devin, and Jim go back home together.
Rick and Jim on his own snowmobile continue the trip with us.
We arrive at a new snowmobile trail where Rick has not been before. Very fun and technical, through the woods!
After 45 km, we are back at the accommodation. Tired and satisfied!
What a beautiful trip, we enjoyed it!
