Tuesday 24-02
What a bright day and great to play outside! Karlijn and Marit built a hut where they entertained themselves for hours. Mom and dad helped out and took it easy. They also made pancakes over a fire.
After lunch, Rick, (the owner) asked Ronald if he wanted to join him on the snowmobile with the snow sled, to prepare the paths for the drop-off together.
Simply walking in the forest is not possible here, there is too much snow. The paths are compacted with a sled making it easier to walk and preventing one from sinking too deep.
Ronald was out and about all afternoon; they got stuck with the snowmobile, cut down trees, and still managed to create a very nice walking route!
After dinner, all bundled up, we set off together for the drop-off! Due to the beautiful day, it was a clear evening.😍
We were taken away by snowmobiles and sleds. Huh, are we stopping already? Just after we started, we stopped at the edge of the lake. WOW, the northern lights!!! The trip is already more than successful.
After this beautiful stop, we rode on to the starting point of the route. Here we got oil lamps and torches.
Magical! Walking in the dark with lamps through a forest and with so much snow!
Exploring, leaving the path and trudging through deep snow to the top of the hill. Well, this is what you get when you go out with Ronald!😋
Definitely worth it!
The northern lights appeared, and we surely enjoyed it for at least half an hour! We were all so proud and happy to experience this.
We walked about 3km, and at the lake, we were picked up by snowmobiles, so we could quickly and comfortably get back to our bed.
I’m going to tell everyone about this surprise, mom!! And the teacher must know that I saw the northern lights!
