Karlijn and Mom were really looking forward to this day, but Marit had thought a lot about it and had visibly struggled with the day that has now arrived, the dog sledding day.
At 10:00 am, the kennel with the dogs arrived at our place. Marit and Dad stayed at a safe distance and observed the situation. Karlijn and Mom stood nearby and didn’t want to miss this adventure!
First, the sled was prepared and the harness line was set up for the dogs. Then, the dogs were released two at a time from their kennels and moved to the sled's line.
Marit came to watch with Ronald as well. Marit stood close to the kennels and described what the dogs looked like.
All the dogs were calm and present. Marit had chosen a favorite, and coincidentally, this dog is named Ted-y, just like my toy!!
When taking them out of the kennels, Marit kept a safe distance.
In turns, you could go in pairs on the dog sled for a lap around the lake.
The dog sled moves very gently, there’s hardly any noise, and you can really enjoy it!
Marit and Mom chatted with the owner of the kennel.
They have a total of 16 dogs, of which a team of 10 dogs was present today. 4 girls and 6 boys.
Marit gained confidence in dog sledding and has been 4 times!

The boys are stronger, and the girls are intelligent. Therefore, the girls lead the way. Is it the same for humans? Marit thinks so 🤪
Dog Jenta was very seriously ill when she was 9 weeks old and had a long journey to recovery. This dog is grateful for all the care she has received and listens very well because of that. She is allowed to lead the way. Jenta is the mother of Ted-y.Marit gained confidence in dog sledding and has been 4 times!
