Fornalutx… translates to "steep stairs,"
Stairs workout describes it better. There is only one direction… upwards. But it is beautiful. A charming mountain village in the Soller Valley. The truly authentic mountain villa

... it might seem a bit stiff, but that doesn't mean he doesn't move; unfortunately, he doesn't move at all. 🙄
The weather isn't so bad that I should stay in bed and sleep in. Damn. "But I'm definitely not going hiking today." Absolutely not.
Before I head to Soller by car, I take Elodie, the Swiss girl with the melodic name, to Inca so she can catch the bus. She's totally happy, and I'm happy too. 😀 That's just how we Ossis are.
In Soller, the first task is to find a parking space. Not so easy, as the town is crisscrossed with much too narrow alleys. I follow the sign for "cementri" and find one. After all, every cemetery must have a parking lot.
So today, I'm taking the historic railway - Ferrocarril de Soller - to Palma and back.
It's like economy class … or just strolling until my backside hurts.
On the train, which was already in operation in 1912 and electrified ten years later, you rattle through the beautiful landscapes of Mallorca for two hours. Between the mountain peaks, Soller shows its best side, nestled between the mountain ranges and surrounded by a sea of orange and lemon trees.
You buy the ticket on the train, and you should also decide right away when you want to return. Ultimately, I allow myself two hours in Palma since the subsequent return trip was already fully booked.
I really enjoy this way of traveling. You can appreciate the landscape with all your senses, slowly and with the window open. It smells like spring, and the monotonous sound of the train on the tracks is quite soothing.
Why does everything in the world have to get faster? It can't be all bad if things just stay as they are for a while. Damn. I definitely don't belong in this century or the world spins too fast for me.
Raise your hand if you feel the same...
It doesn't change anything; I have to get off and look for a souvenir for Lotti.
She said I should bring her something "nice" when we said goodbye. I replied, "Whatever falls in front of my feet, I'll bring it."
And so it turns out to be socks at the end.🤣
Back in Soller, the huge Baroque church of St. Bartholomew immediately catches my eye. Of course, I want to see this popular postcard motif from the inside as well. Built in the 17th century, it shines with glory.
Proceeding through the magnificent street "Calle de la Luna" to visit the modernist museum Ca‘n Prunera.
It's hard not to fall into a buying frenzy, but I'm sticking to my path. 😅
After visiting the museum, I realize I would have been better off deviating from my path. The museum is crap, or maybe I'm a cultural barbarian; either way, as so often in life, you collect the best experiences on the winding paths.🤪
After strolling past a shop window three times, where they demonstrate the preparation of ravioli, I decide to enter "Luna36" for an upscale dinner. I enjoy a divine wine aged under Spain's sun and for dessert tiramisu. What more do you need to be happy!!!
The bill arrives, but who cares... I enjoyed it soooo much. 🙏🏼😀
