Since last week, we have been attending an Irish school. Today, we took a field trip to a castle called Bunratty Castle.
Bunratty Castle is an hour away from Ennistymon. It is a medieval castle from the 15th century. At the entrance, a man played traditional Irish songs on the violin.
Behind the castle, there is an open-air museum. You walk through a village of houses from the early 1900s. For example, we visited a blacksmith who was forging a pair of tongs. We also went into an old school building. A guard from the 19th century was also walking around.
After looking around the village, we went into the castle. The spiral staircase that led up to the towers was very narrow and steep, but we all managed to make it back down.
