Wilhelmshaven
Strange start to today's day: overcast and only 17°C at 8:30 AM. This is not how I wished it would be. Sunshine would be nice even at these temperatures. But the sun eventually came out, and it got very warm wherever we were 'exposed' to it.
We wanted to take advantage of the cooler day for a trip to Wilhelmshaven. We had vouchers for mustard and more from KÜSTENSENF. A small shop with homemade mustard and some other delicious things. Finding a parking spot in the shade was not that easy.
After buying a lot of delicious items at KÜSTENSENF and stowing everything in the car, we aimed to visit the KÜSTEN-MUSEUM. A visit is definitely worthwhile. It's advisable to plan a bit more time, as something interesting awaits in every corner.
We immediately purchased a combo ticket and also visited the former lightship Norderney. Visiting this was also very interesting.
Then we first enjoyed an espresso and a cake by the water at AHOI under a sunshade. We walked over the Kaiser-Wilhelm Bridge to the South Beach. It was quite warm and sunny there. Next, we quickly went to Marktstraße to buy wool and knitting needles. Unfortunately, neither was available anywhere in the whole city. Instead, we walked back through the beautiful park to the car, which was parked in the shade.
In Carolinensiel, we made another attempt to buy knitting needles and wool; this one was successful. And since it was already time for dinner, we headed along the Harle to CLINER QUELLE, a relatively new restaurant. Delicious food and beer from here (Jever) on the terrace was really nice. The day is coming to an end with a World Cup match; I won’t be participating in that.
See you soon!
