Ellwangen

Ellwangen – Farewell.

This is how I love to start my new day: coffee delivered to the table, muesli soaking in hot water, and then let's see what the buffet has to offer. Everything a hungry person could wish for was available; from various types of sausage and cheese, everything that the jam manufactory FALLER has to offer, fruits in abundance – of course also as fruit salad, and and and. Naturally, there were also plenty of baked goods and bread varieties from the nearby Bäckerei VIRNGRUN. For me, there is nothing better than delicious bread with butter! Wonderful! And I even brought some bread from that bakery home.

Everything packed up, I also visited the basilica. Definitely worth it. Both the Protestant and Catholic church interiors are elaborately designed. Then there’s the door that connects both churches today – which was closed for two centuries prior. The friendly staff member at the information desk told me the history the day before.

Ellwangen is much more than just the location of the state garden show 2026. Our time sadly has come to an end; but we will definitely visit this beautiful place again.
