This morning we traveled approximately 220 kilometers from Hamburg (Blankenese) to Heidesee.
The Heidesee in Holdorf is a sand extraction lake created from former sand mining. Today, it is used as a recreational and leisure center.
The natural swimming lake is about 10 hectares in size and up to 15 meters deep. The lake is home to eels, large perch, pike, carp, many American crayfish, and some algae.
We chose this place for our last night before heading home, as we have an appointment tomorrow with the company Sawiko located about 15 kilometers away in Neuenkirchen-Vörden.
Once that is done, we will finally head back home for a while. We need to drive about 250 kilometers from Neuenkirchen-Vörden to get there.
After a short walk by the lake, we made one last stop at Loriot's ➡️ '... I always just wanted to sit here ... and relax'.
This is EXTREMELY important on the last day of vacation before everyday life catches up with you.
In this spirit, we say 'Goodbye and see you next time. Maybe you'll join us again?!'.
