Welcome to Japan 🇯🇵 

Arrived at Tokyo Narita at 21:15. Immediately saw the first typical Japanese thing at the baggage claim: The suitcases are placed neatly upright with the handles facing forward, making them easy to pick up.

We managed our first hurdle relatively quickly, which was the trip to the hotel. We took the Skyliner for around €7 and had to change once to get to the district of Asakusa, which is 67 km away. Since it was already midnight, we bought the popular packaged sandwiches at Family Mart. They actually tasted better than in China. Our hotel, Trend, is conveniently located, but at only 13 square meters, it is very small and very basic, yet clean. For €154 a night, it is the most expensive on our trip, but the cheapest we could find in Tokyo that doesn't just have a 1.30 meter small double bed.

From our very first impression, we can't say much except for the politeness of the staff, more long-nosed folks, and for a moment, it didn't feel as extremely safe as in China.
