Male Maldives: sunny 40 degrees, humidity 89%

We arrived in Male at 9 AM and immediately boarded the tender boat. Today, we are exploring the city of Male on our own. We started at the fish market and then moved on to the fruit and vegetable market. These markets always fascinate me. Next, we went through narrow streets lined with scooters. There are definitely more scooters here than island residents ;-). We visited various parks, which are unfortunately not well maintained, something we found quite regrettable. The blue mosque was built from 2018 - 2022 and can accommodate up to 10,000 worshippers. Unfortunately, it has not yet opened as the air conditioning is not functioning and would cost 6 million dollars to repair. We found a great restaurant by the beach where we once again enjoyed fish and chips and simply savored life, all for just 8 dollars. After that, we strolled back to the tender boat, looking forward to our air-conditioned cabin. Today, on April 4th, we are staying on the ship because it has rained five times between 9 and 11 o'clock. For the next 2 days, we will be back at sea before reaching the Seychelles.
