We are in Colombo, with 800,000 residents, the capital of Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka, the Land of Lions, with 22 million inhabitants, the largest ethnic group being the Sinhalese (Buddhists) and the largest minority the Tamils (Hindus). Independent since 1948 after the departure of the British, but only since 1972 known as Sri Lanka, and famous for coffee, coconuts, rubber, and above all tea.
In the very warm 32°C, we visit some attractions in Colombo. For example, the Cathedral Santa Lucia, Kihara Maha Deri Park, Independence Square, Gangaramaya Temple, the National Museum, and the Kelanya Temple with many worshippers dressed in white due to a major Buddha celebration.
