We arrive in Nagasaki, located in the southwest of Kyushu, Japan, in the morning with bright sunshine. A city rebuilt after its complete destruction by an atomic bomb on August 6, 1945.
We explore Nagasaki on foot, as we docked directly at the pier, almost in the heart of the city.
On the way to the massive 'Glover Garden', we encounter the Oura Church and the Oura Cathedral. The Glover Garden complex offers great views, wonderful garden layouts with koi ponds, water installations, and much more.
Afterward, we head to Shinchi Chinatown, the oldest Chinese community in Japan, where everything is already set for the upcoming Chinese New Year. A small but exquisite piece of Kobe beef has also found its way to us.
