Pitcairn Island
Pitcairn Islands, Pitcairn Islands

The story of the mutiny on the 'Bounty' from April 28, 1798, when eight sailors of the British ship led by Christian Fletcher rebelled against their captain William Bligh, is likely well-known.
After some adventures, the mutineers settled on the 4 km2 island located 2220 km east of Tahiti. Today, about 50 people still live there, all descendants of the mutineers on Pitcairn.
A visit to the island was not possible. However, during the circumnavigation of Pitcairn, most of the residents came to our ship to showcase and, of course, sell various handicrafts and other items. After about 2.5 hours on our ship, they returned to their 'lonely' island, and we continued on towards Tahiti.
