Disappointment

Fresh, cheerful, and all equipped with new hiking gear, today is the first real trip out into nature. Specifically to Fossil Rock. On the way, let's quickly grab some lunch at the supermarket. It's unfortunate that right behind it, a bear is climbing up and down a tree, also fresh and cheerful (though not in hiking gear 😜). Adding to that the bear stories we've heard in recent days causes some family members' fear to overflow. The hiking trail starts with an abandoned forest... Boycott, the outing ends in the parking lot, leading to great disappointment among other brave members. Tomorrow, the canoe trip on the lake will likely have to be the ace up our sleeve 😝. Small consolation: On the way back, we can observe a deer with her fawn - so adorable.

In the evening, Pam, Matteo, and Uschi will join for a feast of the Canadian specialty 'cheese-covered fries' 😅...
