Sixth day

Today, we continued on to Rouen on the Seine. We walked in the footsteps of the Maid of Orleans. Behind the cathedral, in historic buildings, we watched a very impressive digital show about her life. The city itself has a lot to offer: numerous old half-timbered houses, huge churches, museums, shops, and restaurants in a car-free downtown area.

Rouen showed itself to us in its best light: the sun was shining, and the shops were open. The walk from the parking lot to the city was short. Overall, despite being a city, everything was stress-free. Rouen is a city with French flair and a rich history.

Our personal discovery was the café at the Musée des beaux arts. We enjoyed our coffee opposite a large painting and were able to look at it in peace. Yes, it was truly wonderful. This painting is called “Un repas de Noces a Yport” and is painted by Fourie. It is extremely atmospheric.
