What do you think of Mont Saint Michel?

It is truly incredibly beautiful to look at from afar. On the island, it was full of people and very cramped, so you couldn't see much and didn't want to stay. The structure looks fairytale-like from a distance and captivates. One can imagine that on the mountain lives a wizard with his dragon breeding. Once you are inside Mont Saint Michel, the dream abruptly ends. Instead of dragon babies everywhere, there are tired tourists. Below the abbey, there are hotels, restaurants, souvenir shops, ... The sheep grazing on the salt marshes are very picturesque.

We believe that it could be very beautiful there in the evening at sunset when the crowds are gone. However, we acknowledge that everything is well organized. There is a huge parking lot and bus shuttles. The view of Mont Saint Michel definitely makes the trip worthwhile.

And then we headed to Moules frites. Let's see if we can still manage that today.

We made a stop for coffee and pastries in the pot and bell town of Villedieu des Poeles and now it's off to the hotel with a spa, an hour before Rouen, which will be the program for tomorrow.

The spa hotel was a disappointment. Although we did sleep well. The beds were good, that is true - everything else was plastic in an industrial area of Beuzeville.

But the evening was still very very nice. We were in Honfleur and it was great! At Relais des Cyclistes, we finally had the Moules frites. And in the evening we walked to the sea and enjoyed a view of Le Havre and bid farewell to the sea.
