Goodbye, Namur, it was lovely being with you. Our conclusion: an unpretentious city with friendly people who even make an effort to speak German with us.

After two strong coffees at the marketplace, we are now on our way to San Valerie sur Somme on the Normandy coast. Baguette and cheese are waiting to be devoured as our second breakfast. It is raining. Thus, driving today is quite easy for us.

We enjoyed the baguette in the sunshine. We had a trunk picnic in an alley between two fields with spotted and white cows on the left and right. And hardly had we sat back in the car when it started raining again.

Just a quick coffee break, two coffees, cream, in a small village at a brasserie François in Aubigny-en-Artois.

Then we find ourselves on the country road heading towards the Normandy coast along an avenue with poplars and plane trees, I would say the sun is shining, and we are moving from one place with long hyphenated names to the next towards Abbeville. We have left the highway quite early in Belgium and are driving along the country road with many roundabouts.

We are now driving to Quiberville.

And how did you like Valerie Saint-Valerie-sur-Somme?

I liked it well. It's quick to grasp, not very mysterious. It is very small and easy to navigate.

Narrow alleys, many shops and restaurants, everything very small.

Small fisher huts and many tourists. I found it a bit too crowded, and I'm looking forward to some peace.

I also liked it in Namur, because it wasn’t so touristy there.

In St. Valerie sur Somme, there was probably nothing before except for a few fishermen. The entire infrastructure is geared towards tourists: large parking lots and the like... But still, it is very beautifully situated, and we sat by the river eating small pastries from the patisserie.

Now we are in Quiberville, sitting in our hotel room with the window open, seeing and hearing the waves crash on the beach. Carola is playing guitar, I’m continuing to write the blog here.

We are satisfied and happy. The hotel is okay, the location is unique. Outside there are a few young people with their mopeds, a few couples, a family... everything very quiet and almost rural. Just a village by the sea. It is evening and a weekday. On the weekend it might be very different here. Today is just like this, simply beautiful.
