Sometimes you just have bad luck

Hello,

Today we slept in again and had a leisurely breakfast at 11:30 am, while the other hostel residents were already cooking their lunch. 😅

Afterwards, we went to the harbor with great anticipation for our booked excursion. But the joy didn't last long, at the meeting point we were told that the safari had to be canceled due to the weather (moderate to strong wind). We were supposed to participate in a 4.5 hour boat tour with dolphin and whale watching today 🥺. As a result, our disappointment was written all over our faces and we were a bit annoyed that no one informed us in advance. So we were given a free harbor sailing tour. 😁 Although it was not comparable to the originally planned tour, it was still a small consolation.

After that, we went back to the Mexican restaurant that we liked so much and had burritos for lunch. 🌯

Then we strolled around the city for a while and had some ice cream before heading back to the hostel.

At the hostel, we watched some TV and did nothing. 😴

In the evening, we went to Mount Eden with Jonathan, the German boy, or rather we let Uber drive us up quite far. 😅 However, we had to walk the last 600 meters. 🙄

When we reached the top, we had a beautiful view of the entire city of Auckland. We watched the sunset and waited for it to get dark to see the city lights. 🌃

When we returned to the hostel, we both took a shower. We were a bit cold because of the wind and our summer clothes, so we warmed up first. 😅

Afterwards, we cooked our dinner and relaxed for the rest of the evening.
