All night long and especially this morning, we were besieged by very strong winds and rain in Skagastroend. The wind strength is perceived as a fierce storm here; one must be very careful with car doors when opening them, as they can be slammed shut or flung open violently by the wind. With some effort, we reorganized and set off toward Akureyri. Despite the bad weather, we made some photo stops and visited an open-air museum of a turf farm. In the evening, we arrived in Akureyri with sunshine and almost calm winds, allowing us to cook and eat outdoors - unimaginable this morning.
