Snorkeling in the Silfra Fissure

Yesterday, we booked a snorkeling trip in the Silfra Fissure for today at 12:00 PM. The tours are only conducted with dry suits due to the water temperature, which is about 2-3 degrees. After a good half hour of preparation, we stepped into the cold, clear water. The first views were exceptionally good; however, just after 2-3 minutes, I was no longer dry but completely soaked. The suit wasn't tight. Soaked, I made my way back on foot to the dive van.

I could repeat the dive with the next tour, this time with a proper dry suit, and complete the entire experience of about 45 minutes - absolutely worth seeing. After that, I hiked a few kilometers through Thingvellir and admired Öxarárfoss. In the evening at the campsite, I cooked a nice soup outside. It was a beautiful and eventful day.
