Last night, we had already booked tickets for the ferry to Schiermonnikoog. That was to be our trip for Saturday, going over midday and returning in the evening.

The ferry took us from the mainland to the island in fifty minutes. We could have rented bikes at the harbor for a few euros, but we decided to go on foot.

The whole island was designed for bicycles (Fietsen), there were more bike paths than footpaths and of course, bicycles had right of way; always and everywhere.

Unfortunately, we didn't consider that the tidal times were getting later. So, while we were now at the beach, the water wasn't, and we walked over the mudflat.

When the sea slowly returned around 5:00 PM, we finally got to swim in the water.
