The morning began quietly, a very pleasant contrast to the previous one. We had not accepted the breakfast offer and could really sleep in. While looking for someone to pay for our stay, Sebb only found the volunteers, who were actually just cleaning the bathrooms. But since everyone seemed to work into one cash register, it was not a problem and Jolie took our payment. Then we said goodbye to the community.
The drive was once again through the rain. At first, the sky was just gray, then it rained more heavily for a few minutes, then lighter, and when the sky cleared again, there was hardly any sign of rain, and the sun was shining.
Today, we also wanted to try a washing machine at the shopping center for the first time. We had seen these laundromats before, but had never used them. So we drove to one of the large markets, loaded one of the washing machines, and while we shopped, our laundry was washed. Then some of the laundry went into the dryer, and we drove to the caravan service station to empty our waste tanks. After twenty minutes, the dryer was also finished, and the car was ready for action again. Everything seemed to have worked perfectly, and we were able to continue.
The campsite and the area of Porto Covo had been recommended to us during the barbecue on September 24th in Gafanha da Boa Hora. Since we like to receive recommendations and are also willing to try things, we had set the site as our destination for today. We also needed a proper campsite because we had to hang up part of our laundry as not everything had been allowed in the dryer.
The site turned out to be well-booked, very tidy, and organized. There were surprisingly many waste collection points with all the sorting bins: blue, yellow, green (glass), and residual. We also had enough space on our patch to hang up the laundry. However, the only downside was the truly ugly pink wristband they put on us, which was non-negotiable.
As our laundry slowly dried, Ines realized that we had probably overloaded the washing machine today. The laundry felt soapy after drying and seemed not to dry properly. It had just been a lot more laundry than we had expected. The machine had taken in eight kilograms, which was double the amount of our washing machine at home, but without a scale, how much is eight kilograms? In the end, Ines had just filled the drum completely. Probably too full, as it turned out now. After some thought, Ines went and rinsed a good portion of our laundry again in the hand sink.
Meanwhile, Sebb had re-glued the mirror in our bathroom, which had not been holding properly, and tidied up a bit. When Ines had still not returned after half an hour, he had also started frying the chicken strips for dinner. We had salad again today, this time with chicken and mushrooms.
After dinner, we sat for a while in front of the motorhome, watched the stars, and listened to football. The game of the German team was playing on our radio, but we were also informed when the Portuguese scored a goal in the parallel game, as the neighbors cheered then.
