We needed a pitch with services again. After spending the last two nights in a parking lot, our water tank was almost empty, and the waste tanks were nearly full. Sure, we could have stayed another day with a frugal lifestyle, but we also wanted to do laundry.
So after breakfast today, we drove a quarter of an hour to the nearest camper site and checked in there. We didn't want to go any further because we planned to visit the salt pans here tomorrow, which were closed today due to the holiday.
As soon as we set up in our spot, Ines grabbed the full laundry bag and went to the washing machine. Meanwhile, Sebb prepared a yeast dough for tonight’s dinner; it was time for Chatschapuri again after a long while.
When we were back together at the camper, it was time to check more than just the motor oil and coolant from Gary. Sebb laid our beach blanket under the engine compartment and checked the transmission oil level after 7,000 kilometers. Since he was down there, he also took a look at the condition of the brake discs. Finally, he unscrewed the spare tire from under the hood to check the brake fluid level. All checked points were fine. The transmission oil level was exactly at the required mark on the dipstick, the brake discs showed no visible grooves, and the brake fluid was in the normal range. This confirmed what we had already 'felt' while driving: everything was in order, no issues at all.
While Ines emptied the washing machine, putting one part in the dryer and hanging the other on the line, Sebb reorganized the trunk. The frame of the replacement window, which we had stored on our fold-down bed since Seville, was moved to the trunk. In exchange, the thick down blanket for cold nights was made easily accessible since it was already November.
When the yeast dough had risen nicely in the large bowl, it was time to divide the dough, roll out the pieces, fill them with cheese, and bake them in the pan. We served red beet and tuna with garlic alongside the Chatschapuri. We spent the rest of the evening comfortably on the couch.
