On the last day of August, we wanted to give it another try and walked to the city beach of Gorlitz to surf. The well-known search engine had found us two surf schools that were supposed to offer boards for rent here. However, both surf schools were bankrupt and closed. Since the beach here was very small and quite crowded, we decided to follow the recommendation of our campsite manager from two days ago and go to a beach a little further away.

So we walked for about twenty minutes to the train station and took the metro to Larrabasterra. There we had to walk another twenty-five minutes to reach the beach, but there was a surf school with rentals, a large wide beach, and showers to wash off the salt.

After filling out the endlessly long registration form on the school's tablet, we could choose a board. We picked a soft board that was 7.6 feet long and 76 liters, very similar to the one we had already used in France.

We spent the next two hours in and by the water, one of us on the board and the other with the phone taking pictures. When our rental time was up, we were both out of energy.

We packed our things and headed back.

In the evening, we visited the small restaurant at the campsite again and among other dishes, we got to know ‘Patatas sarteniados’ - fries baked with ham and cheese in a pan. After that, it was straight to bed.
