Fifth day
Right in the morning, we set off to the center of Ohrid, near which we had camped by the lake of the same name the previous day. At first glance, the city seemed very touristy,...

'The fifth state was Albania.
Albania is not just any country! It is home to eight thousand smugglers, nine hundred thousand stray dogs, two and a half million drinkers, and two and a half million smokers, which altogether makes two and a half million people.' (The Little Prince, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry)
We arrived in Albania yesterday and immediately had to deal with initial inconveniences in the form of a stuck car. We thought we were in the clear and that nothing worse could happen to us. Little did we know what awaited us today and the following day. The positive news is that we haven't been locked up yet and are still on the road. But now, let's get to what happened on the sixth day.
After a refreshing night, we woke up to an unexpected visitor, puppy Bertold Junior. After breakfast, we set off to Berat, where we visited the local castle, using the entrance marked as FREE on mapy.cz, and it was indeed free. For the way down, we chose a quality shortcut that Béďa referred to as the Treacherous Path of Filda's Ankle. After descending, we agreed to stop for lunch, which a local lizard arranged for us. For lunch, we feasted on the local “kebab.” There was indeed a lot of it. After filling our stomachs and hydrating, we set out towards a beautiful canyon heading south. We had planned the only marked path in the surrounding mountains, where a café was supposed to be located, intended for a rest with a view. Unfortunately, the road turned out to be fateful for us as well. We were informed that it was impassable and we had to take a detour for 4 hours to get as close to the city of Gjirokaster as possible. The journey and finding a place to sleep were successful, except for the presence of a local dog, which did not pester us and kept its distance.
Good night
