On Saturday, September 28, I went on a day road trip with a larger El Rancho group.
Around 10 a.m., we all got into the car, heading south from Waikanae to our first stop: Martinborough. A few others and I had been there before, but this time we participated in a wine tasting. I also found out why Martinborough is famous for its wine. The town is located in a valley, which protects it from heavy rain. The result is that the vines put their energy into the grapes. Martinborough is well-positioned for this. The tasting was a lot of fun with the others, and we could have done nothing and still had the time of our lives.
In the car, we ate our lunch that we had prepared the day before to save money – a very wise decision.
