This week, I got to assist with school groups for the first time and learned a lot about how to present the instructions for the activities. I participated in an outdoor group game and the go-karts. At first, I was very nervous standing in front of so many children and giving instructions for activities that I had only seen for the first time the day before. To add to that, everything was happening in a different language. It was definitely a challenge, but since it was quite repetitive, I quickly got the hang of it. It was incredibly cool to interact with the kids and see how much fun they had with the simplest things.
Also, I was trained during the morning kitchen shift. It was a very relaxed day, and the people there are super nice and funny!
On Mondays and Fridays, we typically have housekeeping (cleaning, tidying up, etc.).
At the beginning of the week, I finally bought and picked up the car with a friend from here in the camp that we had been looking at for the past few weeks. Here, you really rely on a car, so we are now more mobile.
On the weekend, I had a day off. I was with a few people in a small surfer town nearby, at the Mt. Victoria Lookout in Wellington, and we explored the area with shorter road trips. We also went to the pool, had campfires on the beach, and celebrated together into the weekend.
