Goodbye Las Vegas - Off to Death Valley 🏜️

Friday...the last day in Las Vegas. We used the pool one last time, did some errands and packed up. In the evening we treated ourselves to a meal; a bit lighter ;) with mashed potatoes added for flavor 😋 Las Vegas is wild and crazy, but we are also excited to continue traveling. ✌🏻

The next morning we checked out and picked up our rental car for the next 3 weeks, a Jeep Compass.

We headed towards Death Valley 🏜️ our next stop. Just past Las Vegas, we stopped by the 7 Magic Rocks. Fascinating...an artist has stacked 7 colorful large stone towers...and it’s totally wild...

Continuing into Death Valley National Park. Here we made a stop at one of the most famous points, Zabriskie View. WOW 🤩 unbelievable...crazy landscape...and the wind...44 degrees “warm” with a wind speed of 40 km/h 😜😅 I was almost blown away ;) This wind accompanied us until the next day. Our next accommodation for 2 nights, right in the middle, Stovepipe Wells (there’s nothing around it).

Cowboy and Indian saloon atmosphere. Fitting! Room clean and simple. Dinner in the “saloon.” Afterwards, we enjoyed the starry sky. No other light source outside...sooooo many stars, the Milky Way...just totally mind-blowing. The hot wind and the many...accompanied us here as well; still a truly special experience!!! To recreate it ;) Just hold a hairdryer on the highest setting about 1/2 meter away from you, and that’s pretty close. :))
