Day 3 in San Francisco

The fourth day of our trip started with a hearty breakfast: fresh bagels and strong coffee. With full bellies, we checked out of our lovely hotel in San Francisco. We picked up our rental car, a Nissan Versa – a practical everyday vehicle for us to zip through the wide expanses of California.
The handover went absolutely smoothly. We felt comfortable in the car right away and set off to leave the city. We had somewhat memorized the traffic rules during our bike tour yesterday, but now it was time to pass the final rehearsal. Marc took the first shift at the wheel and immediately conquered the steep hills of San Francisco. Driving there is quite demanding!
Shortly thereafter, we drove over the Golden Gate Bridge and said goodbye to San Francisco with heavy hearts. 🌁 We hit the highways, and the drive was incredibly calm. We cruised over numerous highways and freeways, through the picturesque El Dorado County. The view from the window was breathtaking – vast, green hills, forests, and of course, the Californian light that dressed everything in an almost magical cloak.
A first little stop at a McDonald's (the classic
