Good afternoon!

This morning there was first a breakfast by the Atlantic. I could get used to that.

There were a couple of things to take care of.

I'm still trying to find the best way to exchange Euros for cash Pesos.

I think I've found that way. One transfers the Euros to Western Union and lets them pay out on-site. They always say that Western Union is very expensive. But that's not true in my case. I got a rate of 1:1800 Pesos cash. That was even above the daily rate. Perhaps a bait offer?

If you withdraw Pesos from the ATM with your credit card, you pay about 10% in fees. That's just not acceptable.

2. Task: Buy flip-flops. Mine were worn out. They turned into Crocs. ;)

Okay, the small talk is over.

Why Mar del Plata?

After this entry, you will know.

My house is located in the district of Chapadmalal (https://solsalute.com/blog/chapadmalal-argentina/) about 25 kilometers from Mar del Plata.

I drove there today to check if all the positive reports are true.

Here are the results:

First, I went to the surf shop. Here I met Joana and Leon. We chatted a bit, and I told them that I will soon be their new neighbor. They were quite excited. (The strange old German is coming to Chapadmalal. I would say that's the talk of the day. Hehe.)

Then I continued to a surf clothing store. Here I met Camila. Also very nice. I think she was happy to see me.

There is, of course, a nice restaurant as well.

And this is probably my new supermarket. Strangely still closed.

And here is a somewhat peculiar complex. Among other things, there is a store for hashish paraphernalia.

But also one for dog food. ;)

And one for sandwiches, and a cafe, and another restaurant, and, and, and ...

And now the main thing. Juana told me that across from the 'shopping area' there is supposedly one of the most beautiful beaches in Mar del Plata: Luna Roja

This works well for me since I will live about 1.5 kilometers away from it.

Once again, everything has turned out right. Hehe.

And here it is, the Luna Roja

I can't help it, but the chicas are somehow part of it. Right? ;)

The Luna Roja is a public beach. You can visit it without any fee.

A large part of the beaches, however, is privately managed and requires an entrance fee. Here, of course, everything is much more well-kept and luxurious.

So there is something for everyone.

Okay, off to the gym that Martin recommended to me.

High-intensity training with a view of the Atlantic.

It's approved. ;)

A great day, which makes up for a lot, is not over yet.

I don't know what you're all doing now, but I'm going to the casino for a gin and tonic.

Cheers!
