Hello everyone
We think it's about time to draw our first conclusion.
When we visited Switzerland, Zeljko asked us what our absolute highlight has been so far.
Answering this question on the fly was incredibly difficult!
In this relatively short time, we have already experienced so much and nothing can be compared to anything else.
One absolute highlight was definitely the Parrot Park. It really impressed us and we had so much fun!
Then there was the beautiful coast in the Algarve, Portugal. We had never seen anything like it before!
The breakdown in the sand was definitely really bad at the time, but now we like to look back on it and it's a really good story to tell!
Last but not least, when we think about the highlights, we also remember our experience with the local fishermen. Their friendliness and obvious love of life, and what we learned about crabs... That was really amazing!
As you can see, none of the experiences can be compared to each other, so it's still impossible to give just one first place :).
We also have the feeling that we have already changed a bit.... Of course, we are fully aware that we have only been traveling for six weeks and that this is actually not a long time... But we could clearly feel it when we were in Madrid, Barcelona and especially... when we were back home...
At first, we were really looking forward to coming home, but when we arrived, it was somehow different. Everything is still familiar, but not nearly as familiar as before.
You know everything, but you don't really belong anymore... When you come back from vacation, you usually look forward to your own four walls, your own bed, etc. But we always have that with us. We also missed something that we were a little scared of at first: the unknown. It may sound stupid, but just going on the road again and not knowing where it will take us is really great!
Another special thing is what my mom said absolutely right: you develop a certain sense of responsibility for each other and going separate ways like this was... How should we put it?... Just weird....
But please don't misunderstand! It was indescribably wonderful to see all the familiar faces again, to chat with friends and family and to know that everyone is doing well! Even though the journey is over, we will quickly get back to everyday life. This is simply the current situation.
Here are a few small numbers:
So, that's it for our first conclusion. Another one will follow after England, as we will stop in Switzerland again for a short time. However, only for 1-2 days :)
