CROATIA - We spent one week at Villas Misto for a yoga and wellness retreat and honestly could not have picked a better place for it.
The villa is situated on a serene hillside above Primošten, with a completely unobstructed view of the Adriatic Sea. Each morning began with yoga outdoors as the sun rose over the water, and each evening concluded around the fire pit with wine and marshmallows.
What makes Villas Misto unique is its suitability for groups and families. Not only visually, but practically as well. Everyone had their own space, which is rare for large group trips.
The villa features five bedrooms, and each room includes its own spacious bathroom with shower, toilet, and bidet. No competition for bathrooms, no waiting, no chaos. There are also two ovens, two refrigerators, a large kitchen area, and plenty of room for everyone to cook together without being on top of each other.
Outside, there is a heated pool overlooking the sea, several lounge areas, a gas grill, an Ofyr hot stone grill, and a fire pit where we spent almost every evening after dinner. There is also a game room with billiards, table football, and a PlayStation 5, making it ideal not just for retreats, but also for bachelor or bachelorette trips, birthday weekends, or group getaways.
You could easily spend days at the villa without feeling bored.
The nearest beaches and the old town of Primošten are only about a 10-minute drive away.
One aspect I appreciated about Primošten is that it retains a relaxed vibe compared to places like Hvar or Split. It's beautiful without trying too hard, featuring small stone streets, clear waters, boats all around, and restaurants where people linger for hours.
Restaurants we genuinely enjoyed:
✧ Konoba Dvor for dinner with a sea view. Definitely make a reservation, especially around sunset.
✧ Konoba Toni for fresh seafood and local Croatian dishes.
✧ Restaurant Kamenar in the old town for lengthy dinners and wine.
✧ Konoba Capocesto for a more local vibe and fantastic fish.
Activities truly worth doing nearby:
✧ Rent a small boat for the day instead of booking overcrowded tours. We discovered tiny beaches and swimming spots that are inaccessible by car. We explored options from Adriatic Sense and Offshore Boote.
✧ Take a day trip to the Krka Waterfalls. The waterfalls are about an hour away and are honestly one of the most beautiful places we visited during the trip.
✧ Stroll through the old town of Primošten late in the evening after the restaurants have emptied out. That was probably one of my favorite moments of the entire week.
✧ Spend a full evening at the villa without any plans. Grill outside, stay in the pool until late, and enjoy the twinkling lights along the coast.
Some locations are great for photographs.
Villas Misto genuinely felt like a wonderful place to stay.
