This morning when we arrived at school, a mother came and showed what she had in her bag. She had been in Krabi and picked up her mother from the flight and swung by McDonald's. I had been nagging about how happy she was to be going to Ao Chang. This kind soul had brought a cheeseburger for me. Mulle and I cut it into two parts and ate it reverently.
I had sworn I would go to Muay Thai training, and now it was time. I managed to take another mother with me as well. It was the worst experience I've endured in my life. I had missed breakfast, aside from that half a burger. After warming up, I started to feel dizzy, and I had to throw in the towel.
But shame on those who give up, I’ll try again next Tuesday with a bit better preparation.
We also took a walk to the Muay Thai arena to buy a t-shirt for Lawa from there.
She wasn't keen on training today, but when she got the t-shirt, she became excited. It has been very hot today, and it was basically just Lawa and a boy who wanted to train; the others were sitting with their phones. Lawa got a real workout and learned a lot of new things. That kid has such determination and is so attentive to instructions.
Of course, there was some ice cream afterward.
We are all a bit sluggish, and we ended up lounging and swimming in the pool on the terrace in the evening while we waited for the girl who was bringing our passports and the extensions for the residence permits.
We decided to go to Walking Street for dinner, and Mulle ran into an Indian vendor he had been craving and sat down to eat. Lawa and I continued to look for dinner, and we ended up with some corn on the cob and crepes.
Still tired, it was time to head home for a quick bedtime for Lawa, who was really exhausted after training.
