Now we're off!
Goodness, not just butterflies in the stomach but a whole j***a insect hotel. We've been slow to get started with packing, but after a glass of wine, it started to flow. The...

We had promised Lawa gold and green forests in Munich, she would get to shop there. Of course, the plane got delayed and we had to hurry to the next one to not miss it.
I had booked seats far back in the plane, this so that the food would come quickly and then straight to bed. Naturally, they started serving from the middle. When we managed to get down the overcooked broccoli and dry meat patty, the highlight actually came in the form of a piece of chocolate.
Once we had eaten, it didn't take many minutes to fall asleep, Lawa crawled up to me and we cuddled to sleep. Suddenly, the lights in the cabin turned on and we had 1.5 hours until landing. The 10.5-hour flight went smoothly. I'll never fly during the day again.
You know that you always meet interesting/odd people when you travel. This time I want to mention a great flight attendant who spoke about 8 languages. German, Swedish, Danish, Japanese, Spanish and a few more. So nice and of course, Lawa bonded with him.
The next person I want to talk about is the guy at the back whom I want to call 'Is there Swedish coffee at the hotel?'
When he got on the plane, he started shouting loudly in Swedish that the seats were incredibly uncomfortable and how he could possibly sit there for such a long journey. The flight attendant, who obviously didn’t understand Swedish, just looked at him in confusion. When I went to the restroom several hours later, he was still talking about this disaster he had experienced... Man, you get what you pay for. Buy business class next time or keep quiet. It should be noted that he was possibly a bit tall, but completely normal build, so I really don’t understand the problem.
After the culinary breakfast, we had to repack a bit since we hadn't booked the flights together, so we had to retrieve our luggage and check in again. Here we got to carry a whole 30 kilos with us and it's silly to carry a lot on your back. It's a miracle we got everything we packed; I actually thought we would have to get rid of something.
There was a last McDonald's/Burger King and a first Chang while waiting for the plane to Krabi. Suddenly, my flip-flops gave up; I took them for nostalgic reasons as I bought them during our last trip around the world. But now they have to go into the grave. A bit tricky to get around the last bit though. 😜
Upon arriving at the hotel, it was shower time and a new favorite of Smirnoff ice.
It looks like we managed to turn our clock around on the very first day, so this should go well. The room was nice with a large balcony, but strangely, there were no balcony chairs. But it was nice to stand there and listen to the lovely sounds of Thailand in the form of crickets and frog songs.
