What a magical day!

We were picked up at the house at 7:30 and then got to try on our gear. Then it was onto the boat for breakfast.

Koh Haa, here we come!

Lawa felt a bit nervous before we started and said she didn't want to jump in the water, so we had to lift her down. After that, she swam away like she had done it her whole life. She jumped into the other two dives laughing. She is the bravest girl in the world if you ask me; she challenges herself all the time. And she's growing!

During the first dive, however, I encountered my greatest nightmare, a sea snake. I know it's not aggressive and that it basically can't bite a human, but I don't care. I also know they are POISONOUS!

I took Lawa by the hand and swam past like a mermaid.

Lawa and I also got to see a big Barracuda, which unfortunately Mulle missed. We swam into caves, and Lawa loved it. The cliffs are shaped in such interesting ways here, sticking straight up and with hollows everywhere. But the best part is that you really swim around in an aquarium.

Huge schools of parrotfish; we listened to triggerfish crunching on corals, morays swimming around with both zebra and leopard patterns. Not to mention all the Butterfly and Angelfish in all sorts of colors and shapes. Since we couldn't have a camera, I can only attach a picture of all the species that exist, and we managed to see almost all of them.

Dive number 2 resulted in yet another snake. But also two sharks. Absolutely crazy cool. Of course, no great white sharks, but still. We also got to see a lionfish, they're so beautiful but very unpleasant to touch. We also found lobster antennas sticking out from a hole, and Mulle swam down to check on it.

I have snorkeled a bit in my days, but I never cease to be amazed by the beauty in the water. You can just lie still in the water and something is always happening around you. All these schools and curious fish that swim up and stare into your snorkel.

At the last stop, we were a bit disappointed that we couldn't dive in the lagoon, but it turned out to be a home run.

We started with two more snakes, of course, and one swam upwards to take a breath, and I almost peed my pants, but we survived.

Then we got to see another shark, which was a different kind than one we had seen earlier.

Suddenly, I hear a guide shout, and there it was, my big dream to see.

A sea turtle!!! For real!!

We all lay still in the water and just stared at it for five minutes. Now I can die happy!

We went with Blue Planet Divers, and they were incredibly professional. Food and drink in abundance, guides who gave it their all, and a friendly boat.

On the way home, Lawa even managed to do her reading homework! 😀

We had no inspiration for dinner when we got home, so we went to Lanta Lilly for a taco buffet, but it was quite empty there. We sat and talked with the owners and then realized that one school had a Lucia celebration, and our school had a day off, which resulted in many going away on 'vacation'. But we had a good time, and our songbird was up on stage again. Even the bartender got up and played a few songs.
