Day 14 - Phra Thong Temple

Since the wind was already quite strong during the night and the sun was hidden behind thick clouds during the day, we canceled our planned stay at the beach.

Some culture was in order again. It was supposed to be a trip to the Phra Thong Temple . 25 minutes ride on the scooter and we were there.

We found a really beautiful and quiet temple complex. In the temple itself you can only see the upper half of the Buddha. According to a legend, a long time ago a farmer boy found the Buddha statue, which was half hidden in the ground. According to legend, the second half remained underground. You must not pull the entire statue out of the ground, as this will bring bad luck.

I think that's it for temple visits this year. 😉
