Doubtful Sound

In the southwest of the South Island of New Zealand, there are the famous Milford Sound and Doubtful Sound. We decided to take a trip to Doubtful Sound because we were told that it is not as touristy. Even though you have to pay more and first take a 2-hour bus ride, a 1-hour boat ride, and another 30-minute bus ride to get there.

To be honest, we were somewhat disappointed or probably expected something different for the price.

The fjord is very impressive but doesn't really change during the 3-hour boat ride. The highlight was the more than 20 dolphins we saw at the end, swimming around our boat. Well, hindsight is always 20/20.
